A welcoming family campsite in the heart of the Veluwe woods
Meet Ab Roos and Petra van Hunen, the proud owners of Camping and Caravan Dealership De Zanderij, nestled in the beautiful forests of Voorthuizen, Gelderland. With a team of six dedicated employees, Ab and Petra manage the modern recreational center and the associated caravan dealership. In recent years, they have also introduced a popular mini-campsite, where guests can enjoy peace and nature along with a warm, personal atmosphere that makes everyone feel at home. For years, they have lovingly welcomed both young families and seniors to the campsite.

The challenge
The partnership with Camping and Caravan Dealership De Zanderij began with Ab’s parents, who started this welcoming recreational center in 1964. Ab’s father was looking for an accountant to assist with the financial and tax tasks for his business, which led him to us.
Ab explains, “In the 1950s, my father was searching for an accountant outside our hometown and connected with Henk Chardon, a very charismatic man. His company later became part of Stolp+KAB, and we moved with him. By now, we’re probably one of the oldest clients.”
When Ab enthusiastically joined the business as a partner in 1977, the collaboration continued. We’re proud of the long-standing relationship we’ve had with Ab and Petra over the years.
Our approach
Stolp+KAB supports De Zanderij with bookkeeping, tax returns, and payroll administration. The contact with Ab and Petra’s current advisor, John Kret, is excellent.
Petra shares, “My father-in-law always looked ahead. If he wanted to buy a piece of land or make an investment, he would always consult you first. We do the same now. We have regular phone calls, and every six months, John visits to look back—and, more importantly, to look forward together. He’s an engaged advisor, offers sincere advice, and is grounded in the real world.”
The result
Petra and Ab frequently involve us in financial, tax, and legal decisions. Over the past years, we’ve provided advice on significant investments and supported them during an employment law case. For the coming years, Ab and Petra hope to continue in good health. They have hired an enthusiastic manager and are eager to keep innovating.
“In 2017, we added safari tents, extra rental accommodations, and a small beach area. Our guests love it, and we enjoy it ourselves too. And that’s just as important!” says Petra.
